New Toy

Hello friends.

This week I want to talk about a new toy I bought (stop giggling its not a sex-toy).

My Archos Gmini 500 was getting old, and the battery started to fade. To be honest its not a girls PMP (Portable Media Player), its big, clumbsy and heavy. It doesnt play all the different avi files out of the box you need to convert it with special program's. So i started to look around, and stumbled over the (for me unknown) brand Cowon Iaudio.


They have several models, but my eye fell on the Cowon Iaudio s9.
Its as wide as a man's wallet, and a little longer, has a 3.3" Amoled screen. You have to see it in action to believe it. Its crisp, and colorfull, its image burst from the screen.

Some basic's:
It can show pictures from any size and shows slideshows if you want.
It can handle almosts all video Codecs.
It has a buildin radio (strong and clear sounds)
Ofcourse it can play music even the flac, ape and other Codecs.
The sound quality is unbelievable, even with the earplugs coming with it.
It can handle flash nicely.
It screens tilts with you change the position fluidly.
Its incredible light.
I ordered the 32GB version, because it needed to be able to get all the content of my old Archos 30gb Harddrive. Some would say why not buy a Ipod touch? Well I want quality sounds and not overprized Bling Bling.

When it just came out it had some problems with the menu's etc. But Cowon was/is working hard and the Firmwares are updated like there is no tomorrow. ^^
As i said, the battery of the Archos was fading, it would last maybe 2 hours with video and 3 with music only. This cowon capacity is mind blowing. 55 Hours of music play and 10 solid hours of video play, very good for long flights.

I have this one for 2 weeks now and can say openhardidly, I have no regrets this thing is worth all its money.
